With the electronic measuring system for camshaft position VAS 611 007, in combination with diagnosis units, checks and adjustments to the camshaft can be carried out and, thus, also to the valve timing. The accurate method permits the prescribed emission and consumption values to be adhered to after the repair. This method was initially used on the 1.5 litre engine 4V EA 211 EVO.
