Regeneration of the particulate filter cannot be performed while driving but must be carried out in the workshop. As the particulate filter becomes very hot during the process and could permanently damage surrounding components, the forced cooling is carried out by the high-performance fans VAS 231 001.
The high-performance axial fan has three switching stages, which enables an air output of up to 7,000 m3/h at maximum performance. In the building, the device has a throw range of 65 metres. The robust fan is designed for continuous professional usage under the toughest conditions. In addition, it is protected against dust and spray water (IP protection class 55). The exceptionally economical device has a power consumption of only 0.46 kW. In addition, it weighs only 19 kg and can, therefore, be easily transported and positioned in the workshop.
Further application possibilities: For example, the fan can also be used for drying vehicle interiors or for cooling the engine compartment after a test drive so that waiting times for subsequent repairs can be reduced.
